Specifics: Legal look at public host of the Green Bat Nightclub.
Dice: None

The Green Bat's matrix site is set up as a virtual bar, the menu on the counter serving as a table of contents to the rest of the site.

In reading over it, it becomes clear that the club has few requirements aside from cold, hard cash. It's made clear that patrons may dress as they wish, so long as it is one of the current years fashions....and it's implied that your chances are better the more expensive it looks.

It is possible to use a special, "VIP Entrance", one lacking cyberware and weapons scanners, if an entrance fee of 500Y is paid.

The address and several phone numbers are given. Like the club owned by Omar, it is located within one of the expensive districts of Seattle.

A list of bands/singers is given, rap and techno artists without exception.

A picture of the owner is provided, however there is no mention whatsoever of Edgar Drax.

The host itself presents no details without a comprehensive search.

Green Bat:
Registered as a generic bar, just like the hundreds of others in Seattle, by K. Ladiss on August 12, 2056. Space rented from O.E. Parker & Willard. Sold to Yosse Farrington in June of 2060. No former rental of said space.

O.E. Parker & Willard:
The building was constructed by the Seattle Times in 2052, but it didn't pan out and they immediately rented the entire thing to O.E. Parker and Willard, a real estate firm with primarily private clientel, but only handling large deals. According to their quarterly reports, they've been doing well since being founded in Kentucky, 2046, by Joseph Boshkin. 64% of the company is held by corporate interests, with the remainder of the company's stock owned by private individuals.
The members of the board are listed, but the names are unfamiliar. All are unmentioned with regard to public files.

Alex Omar:
Several news stories, all about a year old, with regard to the boom of his club. In several of the pictures is shown the man you know as David Kell, who's actual name it seems is David Orin. 32, born in New York. Perfect high school record and graduated college with a degree in Business. Worked with Omar from graduation until Omar's death.

Edgar Drax, Yosse Farrington and Michael Roe:
Aside from the obvious involvement listed for Farrington with the Green Bat, seeing as he's the legal owner, the others seem clean....no public records of any kind associated with them.

The stock increase came as the result of several transfers of large amounts of stock, as Renraku sold about 75% of their stock in the firm which was purchased by several smaller companies. The top shareholders are:

#1 (12%) J. Boshkin, Founder
#2 (10%): Davis & Jerrup. Real Estate, based in Kentucky.
#3 (8%): Renraku. AAA Megacorporation, was the main shareholder until the change of ownership, when they began to sell.
#4 (6.7%): William Vi, private.
All other stock is held by various corporations and individuals, each with less than 5% of the total value.

The board of directors has been unchanged, however at the next election the member elected through Renraku will have his chair changed.

David Orin. Employment since College: 1, Assistant to Alex Omar.
Criminal Record: Secure Server
Location: East Seattle. Address given, LTG is as given for contact in the original disk. (I'll edit the post and add it later; I really need to go right now.)
H.J. Kobb
[edit] [delete]

Lynx (Admin)

The only record of H.J.K. on the Matrix is in the database for mailz4u.com, where the name was used to register an e-mail address three days ago.

According to everything else, H.J.Kobb doesn't exist.

Alex was shot at roughly 6PM....the e-mail address was initiated on the midnight database update 6 hours later, but could have been ordered at any time within that 6 hours.

Cyon

Cyon picks up the cable from the table and lays back; his eyes close as he jacks in the matrix. He returns immediately to the Green Bat's public site, and looks for all indications of a private net and what ways there are to access it.

The public host at the Green Bat is set up as a bar, a black door inset in one corner marked, "No Tresspassing" providing access to the secure portion of the host. Access seems to be either via a legit login (represented by a passcode lock on the door) or you could always try to force it.

Cyon loads the following programs into memory before he begins to try and access the secure portion of the site. (Cloak, Deception, Sleaze, Relocate, Analyze) He then Analyzes the host to determine any information he can before continuing.

The system appears to be a Green-5. Basic off the shelf firewall.

Cyon unloads the analyze program and loads Attack Medium instead. Cyon approaches the door, removing a toolkit from his pocket at the same time. After getting the toolkit out, he grabs a chair and pulls it over to the door also. Standing on the chair he reaches up and unscrews a vent which was, stupidly, attached from the outside. A small fan is mounted in the hole left by the grating, which is easily stopped by cyon pressing against the center of it with a piece of rag. Quick work shorts the connection of power to the fan, leaving a circuit in place, but the fan disabled and removable. Putting the rag away and blowing on his fingers hurting a little from the friction, Cyon removes the fan as well. Putting the toolkit away and taking a moment to rest, Cyon climbs through the gap left by the vent.

The inside of the host isn't sculpted with care as the outside is. Far from it. Instead, it's been left as the default. Generic icons representing everything in a world of grey lines.

Cyon

Cyon moves in front of a large row of filing cabnets and begins to sort through all of the folders looking for anything useful, but specifically employee information, and especially on Yosse Farington or Edgar Drax. He also looks for anything dealing with O.E. Parker. (+7d6 pool)

The search turns up nothing on Edgar Drax...he evidently doesn't work for the nightclub. However Yosse Farrington's name comes up in two files....Employee Data, and Expendature. O.E.Parker's return is the same Expendature file.

Cyon records the location of the relevant files in a little notebook he is carrying. With a florish he also jots down a note to remember to remove all logs when he views those files. Then he gives a little sigh and goes to the first cabinet in the row. He starts to sort through the files again, this time looking for any purchases relating to security, especially security personel, security hardware, and any security software. (+7d6 pool)

The second search turns up very fruitful. There's a slave directory, listing the different security installed, as well as a full personel file. Equipment is listed in a third file.

Cyon records these file locations in his notebook. This time he goes to the last filing cabinet and searches through them backwards for interest sake. He looks for any files relating to income, especially something that doesn't seem to match the normal income of a club which should only be people coming in the door.

Despite thoroughally searching, no files are returned that would have the sort of data necessary. Everything available has been filed by low level employees and reflects the normal trends of a club, albeit a successful one.

Cyon immediately returns to the filing cabinets, hopefully for the last time. He searches for any references in the files to other people or places outside of the club itself. Specifically he is trying to locate anything on H.J. Kobb or the LTG that relates to him, mailz4u.com, or any other piece of outside contact information that doesn't seem to be of a business nature. (+7d6 pool)

Nothing whatsoever results. There's nothing at all incriminating within the fields of this search.

Cyon

Cyon steps away from the filing cabnets, turns his back to them, and begins to walk in the opposite direction. With a quick motion he pulls out his notebook to look at what things he found. It seems he has Employee Data, Expendature, Slave directory, Personel, and Equipment all listed with a comment on what can be found in each. As he continues to walk it gets darker until it seems he is in a room with no doors or windows and only lit by a few candles. A large desk is in the center of the room, with each of the files he wants to look at on a smaller table next to it, and the directory on the other side in a small cabinet. Cyon sits down at the desk and begins by taking the top file, the Employee Data file. He makes a copy of the file, puts it on the far side of the desk, and continues on to the next file. He does this through all the files and the directory. (+7d6 pool)

Cyon, finishing his work, steps away from the desk, and room slowely fades away the farther he backs from the desk. Once the room is completely gone, and he is in pure white, a sign comes into sight in front of him, even as he is backing away. Once it appears completely, he starts walking towards it. Once he reaches it, he is at the same door he entered from, but the fan is back in place, and the grating is covering it from the outside. He opens the door, steps out, and it shuts silently behind him. After one look back, he goes outside of the bar's web site completely and followes the power lines to the site of the power station.

The company controlling electric to the area of the Green Bat is a subsidiary of Shiawase, purchasing power from it's nuclear plant and then distributing it to the populace. The host is sculpted to resemble the inside of a power box, but the sculpting was obviously not expensive - flaws in the reality appear frequently. An, "EMPLOYEES ONLY - HIGH VOLTAGE" sign marks the secure portion of the site. Instead of a door there are instead massive arcs of white electrical sparks shooting out of the end of the 'wire' that forms a tunnel into the secure portion of the host.

Cyon unloads medium attack and loads analyze instead. Once this is done, he attempts to analyze the
power station for any useful information.

The site is secured with a low end firewall, as far as corporate systems go, but it still comes in at about Green-8. Not going to be as pleasant, but still doable.

Cyon nods to himself, waves to the host, then walks away, the sparks seeming to dance just behind his shoulders. They fade away as he reaches the government site containing the blue-prints for the building.

Cyon

Appearing as the interior of a great library, virtual books stretch in every direction. Unfortunately the entire site is private...civilians don't need to access the blueprint sections of the city archives. The entire library is covered in a grey film, locked off to you.

Cyon analyzes the dust to see how many layers it has, trying to see how hard it will be to access the host.

For the first time, a challenging host. It seems to be an Orange - 6 System.

With a sigh, Cyon turns from the host and exits the Matrix.
